#Showbiz: Siti to receive Rania Night International Award

KUALA LUMPUR: The country's number one entertainer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza is a winner yet again.

She has been chosen as the recipient of the Rania Night International Award 2019, which is bestowed on outstanding individuals by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) every year.

Muslim World Rania Award chairman Dr Raja Laila Rani Raja Mohamad Abdullah said Siti will be presented with the award this Friday, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

It will be attended by members of various royal families from the Arab World.

The Rania Award is named in honour of Queen Rania, the wife of King Abdullah of Jordan, and is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Muslim world in their respective professions.

“Siti is not only an outstanding entertainer for Malaysians, but also an exemplary Muslim woman who has been involved in humanitarian work and has inspired millions in Malaysia and overseas. She is indeed a Muslim women's icon," said Raja Laila in a news report on Sunday.

“She embodies all the qualities of an icon, humility, integrity, compassion, dedication to work and family-orientedness."

The award night will also feature the Muslim World Biz, a bazaar where Malaysian artistes manage their own stalls and market their own consumer products. Artistes at the bazaar, which opens from 10am to 6pm daily from tomorrow until Friday include Azza of Elite, Iesya Toh, Linda Rafar, Diana Rafar, Datin Diana Danielle, Abby Abadi, Yatt Hamzah, and Datin Almy Nadia.

Singers Heliza Helmi and Fynn Jamal will also give talks about humanitarian work in Gaza, Palestine.
