#Showbiz: Alif Satar's showcase tour

SINGER, actor, TV host, father of two and all-round good guy Alif Satar recently had a mini showcase where he entertained close to 300 of his fans and music lovers at Hard Rock Cafe in Kuala Lumpur.

The Tundukkan Playboy Itu, Dia Semanis Honey and Red Velvet star performed songs from his past three studio albums.

Kicking off the afternoon with the energetic number, Jangan Nakal, Alif was backed by his competent band The Locos, made up of a guitarist, bassist, drummer, keyboardist and two backup singers.

His 10-song set during the hour-long showcase also saw him belting out Lelaki Seperti Aku, Akhiri Penantianku, Nona Jakarta and Akan Tiba.

The talented and easy-going artiste later brought out popular nasyid group Raihan to sing along to the percussive Iman Mutiara and Thank You Allah. He then sang Sesungguhnya Aku before performing a Bruno Mars medley of funky tracks for his encore.

To cap off the showcase, Alif sang his latest big hit single, I Want You To Love Me, which was chosen as the theme song for the TV3 drama series, Kau Yang Pertama.

The event, organised by Petron Malaysia and Enrich Malaysia, also saw fans celebrating Alif’s birthday in advance by presenting the star with a cake and birthday song (he turned 29 yesterday). A lucky draw and a meet-and-greet session with the Big Stage Season 2 host then followed.

The mini showcase in KL was the first in a tour that will see Alif entertaining fans at other Hard Rock Cafes in Penang (Sept 28) Kota Kinabalu (Oct 12) and Melaka (Oct 20).

To get exclusive VIP passes to the mini showcases, Petron miles members have to fill up RM250 worth of fuel collectively and send in the receipts together with personal details and a contest form.

Those who attend the events will automatically be eligible to participate in the Fuel & Fly competition. The contest runs till Oct 15. The winner will be able to bring along one other person for a 6D5N trip to New Zealand together with Alif.

After the showcase, Alif said that although he was not yet ready to hold a major concert, he was happy with the mini event so far. “I’m touched and blown away by the response and support from the fans as well as the organisers.

“Thankfully everything is going well and smoothly. I treat this showcase as a warm-up for the next event to come,” said Alif.

He added: “This is my first tour since being in showbusiness. Prior to this, I’ve just had singular mini showcases and small concerts. So this new tour further charts my course in the entertainment scene.”
