#Showbiz: Alif & The Locos, Anggi Marito and Raihan serenade fans at KL concert

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer Alif Satar and his band The Locos entertained over 2,000 music fans at Zepp KL, yesterday.

The 33-year-old singer was also joined by Indonesian singer Anggi Marito and iconic local nasyid group Raihan during the evening concert, titled A Night With Alif Satar & The Locos And Anggi Marito With Raihan.

Anggi kicked off the concert at 8pm with a set of heartbreak ballads consisting of Hampa, Cara Mencintaimu and a medley made up of Peri Cintaku, Dibalas Dengan Dusta, Tanya Hati and Akhir Cerita Cinta.

Backed by her five-member band, the 21-year-old songbird, who was third-place winner of Indonesian Idol Season 11, wowed the audience with her powerful vocal delivery.

"This is my first performance in Malaysia. You guys have made it very easy for me and it's been a very memorable and magical moment," she said.

Anggi, who also won Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2023 Indonesian Music Awards, ended her 20-minute set with her big hit, Tak Segampang Itu.

Next up was Alif Satar & The Locos (ASTL) who delivered an upbeat performance that got the crowd swaying and singing along.

The music outfit certainly lived up to their promise when Alif said: "Are we ready to party? We're going to have fun!"

The Locos, made up of Faliq Auri (on saxophone and flute), Tam Cobain (guitars), Efry Arwis (bass) and Rajwan Juni (drums), provided solid backing for Alif and at certain times also moved in sync with the charismatic frontman.

They performed their well-known songs like Akhiri Penantianku, Cukup Indah, Nona Jakarta, I Want You To Love Me, Sesungguhnya Aku and Jangan Nakal.

Thanking his fans throughout their 90-minute set, Alif added: "I feel very blessed to have all of you here."

The concert also featured a spiritual side when the group invited longstanding nasyid vocal group Raihan onstage for a collaborative performance.

They performed a medley of Puji-Pujian and Syukur, as well as Iman Mutiara and Sesungguhnya 2019, which had a background video featuring the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Raihan, consisting of Che Amran Idris, Abu Bakar Mohd Yatim and Amran Ibrahim together with two other percussionists, delivered an uplifting performance.

Alif had recorded the singles Sesungguhnya 2019 and Damba Cinta Mu, back in 2019 and 2020 respectively, which featured Raihan.

ASTL also collaborated with the nasyid group in 2022 when they released the special EP project, The Sunnah The Better.

The concert, co-organised by Mutiara Optimum Sdn Bhd and MND Sport & Event Sdn Bhd, came to an end with a moving performance of the band's big hit, Anugerah Terindah.

This was the track that saw them become third place winner at the 37th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL 37).

For their encore tune before finally rounding off the show proper, ASTL returned to the stage to perform an energetic rendition of Lelaki Seperti Aku.
