KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Sharnaaz Ahmad has filed for nusyuz (disobedient) against his wife entrepreneur Noor Nabila Mohd Noor.
Syariah lawyer representing the 33-year-old artiste, Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader, told the court during case mention today that his client had filed his application on Sept 19 and had sent the summons to Noor Nabila on Sept 22.
Syariah Judge Ahmad Muttaqi then fixed Nov 6 for case re-mention.
After the proceeding, Sharnaaz told the Press that he had filed for the application because he wanted to stop all the speculations regarding their divorce case.
“Besides, I also want to settle the issue between the two of us in the best way possible without any aggression,” he said in a news report today.
At the proceeding earlier today, both parties have appointed a mediation committee, with Sharnaaz appointing his sister Dr Sherrini Ahmad Bazir Ahmad and Noor Nabila, her stepfather Abdul Halim Khan.
Earlier this month, Noor Nabila filed for a divorce from Sharnaaz.
Sharnaaz and Noor Nabila tied the knot on March 31 in 2017. They have a 12-month-old boy named Jebat Jayden Ahmad.
