KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Syafie Naswip is relieved that the prosecutors have classified the case involving threat and assault alleged against him in July as No Further Action (NFA).
According to a news report yesterday, the decision was made due to insufficient details provided.
The allegations were made by actress Aishah Azman, 23, who was also Syafie’s fiancée at the time.
“Thank God. I’m very grateful with the outcome of the investigation.
“At least, this proves that all the allegations made against me are untrue and I’d like to thank all those who have prayed for me,” said the 27-year-old Mukhsin star.
The news report also quoted Syafie’s lawyer Muhammad Ashraff Mohd Diah from Ashraff Al-Hizan & Associates saying that the police working on the case had informed them in writing that the investigation had been carried out and the outcome submitted to the prosecutors.
“Having read through the investigation papers, the prosecutors have classified the case as NFA,” he said.
Syafie thanked his family and fans who had continuously shown their support via text messages and comments on social media.
“It’s true what my mom always tells me.... that prayers by the oppressed will always be answered. And that’s what I’ve been doing all this while,” he said.
Syafie and Aishah got engaged on April 7, but the engagement was called off on July 21.
