#Showbiz: 'If it gets worse, I'll take legal action' – Nabila Huda on threats following allegations of culture misappropriation

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Nabila Huda Suhaimi said she would take legal action if she and her family continued getting harassment and threats, including via social media.

In a news report yesterday, the 39-year-old artiste recently revealed on her X account that she had received a threat from a netizen believed to be an Indonesian citizen, who said he/she would kidnap Nabila's 13-year-old daughter Keisha Laila after the person claimed that the actress had misappropriated Indonesian traditional wear.

"That person claimed that I had gone too much when I wore and claimed that kebaya was a (Malaysian) traditional gear.

"Why has this debate about Malaysian/Indonesian culture kept going on and on is beyond my comprehension, especially when both countries come from the same region and even the majority of their people are of the same stock," she said in the report.

"Actually I didn't want to give this much thought, especially when it could lead to serious problems like limiting my movement or even work.

"However, I have to be more careful from now on."
