KUALA LUMPUR: John Wick star Keanu Reeves, 55, started dating Alexandra Grant, 46, early this year after being friends for a decade and now wants to "openly share his life with her".
British newspaper Daily Mail reported yesterday that Reeves surprised fans by holding hands with Grant at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles last Saturday.
Reeves and Grant were seen with their arms around each other in May at the MOCA Benefit 2019 at The Geffen Contemporary in Los Angeles.
A month later at the Saint Laurent Men's Spring Summer 20 show held at Paradise Cove Beach in Malibu, they went further and held hands for the cameras.
Reeves and Grant first collaborated in 2011 on Reeves’ book Ode To Happiness, with Grant providing the illustrations. The project was her first artist book and Reeves’ first book as a writer.
They worked together again on the actor’s 2016 book, Shadows, in which Grant again provided the illustrations.
Fans have been excited that Reeves has finally found love.
Swarthmore College graduate Grant is a Los Angeles-based artist, who uses language and exchanges with writers as a source for imagery in sculpture, painting, drawing and video.
Her work is in public collections including the Los Angeles County Museum Of Art (LACMA).
The Ohio-born artist has exhibited at prestigious spaces around the world including Galerie Gradiva in Paris and The Harris Lieberman Gallery in New York.
In 2008 she founded the philanthropic grantLOVE project which produces and sells original artworks and editions to benefit artist projects.
Reeves and Grant founded publishing company X Artists' Books in 2017, with a focus on unusual collaborations.
The film star has had previous dalliances with Amanda De Cadenet and Claire Forlani.
There has also been a long-standing rumour that he secretly had a crush with his Speed co-star Sandra Bullock in the 1990s after their sizzling onscreen chemistry scored a box office hit.
Reeves' most significant relationship was with actress Jennifer Syme. They began dating in 1998 and, in 1999, Syme became pregnant with their daughter, Ava.
Ava was tragically stillborn at eight months. In 2001, Syme died at the age of 28 in a car accident in Los Angeles.
