#Showbiz: Yuna sizzles at People's Choice Awards' red carpet

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian superstar singer-songwriter Yuna made her debut at the People's Choice Awards last Monday.

On that special occasion, the voice behind hit songs Terukir Di Bintang, Rescue and Dan Sebenarnya, wore a stunning dark red jacket and matching trousers, plus a black turban, shirt and pointed shoes.

Her glamorous outfit was designed by German-based fashion label Marcell Von Berlin.

Yuna, who was delighted to attend the People's Choice Awards for the first time, tweeted: "I didn’t win but wow, did I have fun at the People's Choice Awards tonight! I was in the same room as singer Gwen Stefani. I love you! Thanks People's Choice Awards for having me and thanks everyone who voted!"

In the annual awards held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, the United States, Yuna was nominated for Most Inspiring Asian Woman award. Unfortunately, she lost to South Korean pop singer Lee Chae-Rin or CL of the girl group 2NE1.

Netizens commended Yuna for her star turn at the awards. Even though she did not win, they hailed her for getting nominated for an award and doing Malaysia proud.

“Fantastic Yuna! You're always an icon of style and an inspiration to all Malaysians and women," said a Netizen identified only as Ayda.

“So proud of you, Yuna! You're the best," said another Netizen, Azman.

“Even though you didn't win, you're always a winner in my heart," said Sharif.

Besides CL and Yuna, the other nominees for Most Inspiring Asian Woman included singer-actress Alia Bhatt of India, actress Zhou Dong Yu of China, actress Raline Shah of Indonesia and actress Praya Lundberg of Thailand.
