#Showbiz: Siti Sarah surprises 'palace gate' media with goodies

KUALA LUMPUR: Media practitioners camped outside the gates of Istana Negara have been receiving free sustenance from food and beverage companies for the past few days while covering the political developments of the country.

The King himself, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, had previously taken the time to distribute lunch to members of the Press.

Earlier today, journalist and photographers were surprised when singer Siti Sarah Raissuddin turned up to greet them there.

In a news report, the 35-year-old artiste said that she admired the work ethic and commitment shown by the men and women of the media who steadfastly remained at their post in order to deliver news updates to the public.

“What they go through in order to carry out their duties can’t be easy. It’s only fair to appreciate their effort. I myself have wanted to be there to see what they are experiencing since they are my friends anyway,” she said.

While there, the Kesetiaan and Bersamamu hitmaker also distributed drinks and honey sticks to the media, the public and security personnel.

She later shared an Instastory entry that featured memorable moments of her time at the location.

The wife of comedian Shuib Sepahtu added that she felt compelled to offer the charitable expression as a small token of appreciation.

“It’s a new experience for me that made me realise that every job has its own set of challenges. It was just a small contribution from me. If the Agong can do it, why not me as well? And I pray that we will always be able to live in peace and harmony,” she said.
