#Showbiz: Naz recuperating from 10th spinal surgery

KUALA LUMPUR: Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan host Nazrudin Habibur Rahman or Naz recently underwent surgery on his spinal chord, to remedy his right hand's year-long "numbness".

Naz, 41, revealed that he underwent his "10th surgery thus far" at the Damansara Specialist Hospital in Petaling Jaya in a brief video yesterday.

It showed him wearing a neck brace and sitting on his hospital bed, while being fed porridge by his wife, former newscaster Sheahnee Iman Lee.

In the caption to the photo, Naz said: "I didn’t want to make a big deal, but I guess the secret is out.

"One of my bones was impacting my spinal chord, and I haven’t been able to feel my right hand for more than a year now.

"Fear and the hustle made me brush it off, until I dropped my microphone several times on stage.

"It was time to face the fear.

"Despite the risk, surgery was successful.

"I'm recuperating at home, with my loved ones. I can't turn my head, but I've been working on weights, and I can now lift 5 kilograms, slowly but painfully.

"Thank you to the staff nurses and medical team at the hospital. You're really kind and professional. Stay safe and clean everybody.

"This is my 10th surgery, and may this be the last. Thank you again for the well wishes, and sorry for not letting you guys know about it.

Netizens, including Naz's fellow celebrities, wished him a speedy recovery.

"Oh my God. Glad to know you are better," said comedian Douglas Lim.

"May God heal you. Speedy recovery," said singer Anuar Zain.

"Get well soon Naz," said actor Saharul Ridzwan.

"Wow! Glad you are healing well. Lots of love to you and family," said actress Daniella Sya.

"So glad you are on the mend and back with your family. Take it easy and wishing you a steady recovery," said actor Jehan Miskin.

Naz last underwent surgery in 2014 to remove a tumour in his stomach. He spent a week in hospital and lost 20 kilograms in the process.

Naz and Sheahnee were married in 2008 and have three children.

Besides Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan on TV3, Naz has also hosted reality talent show MyStarz and financial magazine Ringgit Sense on TV3, and morning talk show The Breakfast Show on ntv7.

He has also acted in the 8TV dramas Ghost, Realiti and KL Lights.
