Zahid returns to duties after recent surgery

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi returned to work today after recovering from surgery earlier this month. His first business was attending the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In a post on his Facebook several hours ago, Zahid shared several photos of him at the cabinet meeting. "Alhamdulillah. With the grace of Allah, I am back on duty to carry out the (duties) that has been entrusted (to me) by attending the cabinet meeting chaired by the prime minister.

"May I continue to be given good health to serve the people and ease all matters," he said.

Zahid also thanked everyone for their support and prayers.

"Hopefully this spirit can help us carry out the trust (given to us in working) for the country together. InsyaAllah."On Nov 19, Zahid's daughter Datuk Nurul Hidayah confirmed that her father was in good health after undergoing a surgical procedure.

In a lengthy posting on her Instagram account, Nurul Hidayah, fondly known as Kak Long among her followers, also expressed gratitude to all the people who were concerned and prayed for her father's recovery.
