#Showbiz: Daniel Craig not leaving his massive fortune to his kids

KUALA  LUMPUR: The children of James Bond star Daniel Craig will not be inheriting his £125 million (about RM647 million) fortune when he passes on.

According to Bang, the British actor revealed that he would rather give his massive fortune away than to pass it on to his two children.

In a recent interview with Saga magazine, the 52-year-old artiste said: "I don't want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful. My philosophy is to get rid of it or give it away before you go."

Craig, who has a daughter Ella, 28, with ex-wife Fiona Loudon, 51, and a two-year-old baby girl with current spouse Rachel Weisz, 50, also confessed that he was quite an emotional person.

"I'm as emotional as anyone and I can cry at anything. Normal stuff, like kindness. A good commercial can get me going if I'm in the mood," he said.

The actor later revealed that his dream was never to play the debonair English agent 007 but to portray a superhero instead.

“I dreamed of being all sorts of other things — Superman, Spider-Man, the Invisible Man, even a good old-fashioned cowboy.”

“But (with) Bond, which seems ironic now… I’ve been lucky enough to land one of the best roles in movies. There’s no downside to playing Bond.”

Craig added that he was capable of playing "anything" after Bond, despite some of his predecessors, such as Roger Moore, who had fallen into the trap of being typecast.

He said: "I'm pretty sure I can play just about anything. Yeah. I'm pretty sure I can, or at least I can make a f**ing good fist of it."

His latest Bond film, No Time To Die, was initially scheduled to open in cinemas next month but has since been postponed to November due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
