KUALA LUMPUR: Missing his mother, Datin Suliza Salam, singer Ismail Izzani has composed a song especially dedicated to her.
The 19-year-old artiste uploaded a video of him singing the tune on his Instagram recently.
In the caption accompanying the video, he wrote a special dedication to his popular 1980s singer mother.
It read: “Here's a song that I made for my lovely mama. To be honest, I miss her so much. She really raised me well with full of love and kindness.
“Mama, I promise that I will work hard for you and the family.
“I don't want you to be sad. I will try my best to always make you proud and happy... I know it's not easy for you to handle all the negative things around me in this music industry because you've always wanted to protect me...," Ismail wrote in the caption accompanying the video.
What made Ismail’s performance of the song even more heart wrenching was seeing him trying hard to hold back his emotions.
The video has been viewed more than 137,000 times and received some 500 comments, including one from his mother who left him a message featuring heart emojis.
