#Showbiz: Amy Mastura shocked to hear the passing of her duet partner

KUALA LUMPUR: Having had the chance to record a duet number in 2000, singer Amy Mastura admits that she was shocked and saddened to hear the passing of Indonesian R&B singer-songwriter Glenn Fredly.

"Of course, his sudden passing has taken me by surprise. We got to know each other when we were paired together to record Dengarkanlah 20 years ago," said the 48-year-old singer in a news report yesterday.

Amy said that since then, she had been a fan and follower of Glenn's musical career.

"Besides being such a talented artiste, he was also a very likeable and

polite person," added Amy who last met Glenn when he was down here for a performance few years ago.

Glenn is her second international duet partner who had gone too soon.

In 2017, she was shocked to hear the death of American singer, Tommy Page, with whom she had recorded the song The Best Part in 1996.
