#Showbiz: Yuna to perform in Asian American livestream concert

KUALA LUMPUR: Music fans can catch Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna in action tomorrow during the online concert, Asia Rising Forever.

According to news reports, the livestream music event is set to start at 9am on Twitter and YouTube.

Asia Rising Forever will feature a stellar all-Asian line-up spanning over 20 acts across 11 countries and is organised by 88rising, a hip hop collective and music label that aims to promote Asian artistes in the US.

Aside from Yuna, Korean artistes such as Kang Daniel, CLC, Hyukoh and Lim Kim, as well as London-based lo-fi singer Beabadoobee, Fillipino singer Iñigo Pascual, bedroom pop singer mxmtoon and Thai singer Phum Viphurit will also be performing.

Expect 88rising's current and former roster of artistes like Rich Brian, NIKI, Dumbfoundead, Stephanie Poetri and Josh Pan to make an appearance as well.

A press statement on the event read: "During the live broadcast, donations will also be raised to overcome racial discrimination against Asians around the world due to Covid-19."

The Asia Rising Forever global concert will also see the artistes giving interviews and taking part in fun games and activities.

The event is set to coincide with the beginning of Asian American and Pacific Islander Month in the US.
