#Showbiz: Actor Mathni Razak almost robbed on Raya day

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Mathni Razak, best known for the drama series Nur, had a shocking start to his Hari Raya, when a couple of masked men almost broke into his Kajang office last Sunday.

Mathni, 30, said in a news report yesterday that he realised something fishy was happening outside his office when he heard the sound of a falling object.

"My wife and I were in my office late Saturday night, and we were getting some foodstuffs ready for sale on the first day of Raya. We then spent the night there, and when we got up around 7.30am, I heard a loud thud.

"When I looked out of my door, I saw two men wearing masks and gloves on the CCTV just outside my office. I thought they were policemen on patrol, but they soon broke into another office on the ground floor," said Mathni.

He quickly called the police, and also notified some of his friends who lived near his office.

"Unfortunately, I could not get the police despite making three telephone calls. The masked men started walking upstairs, and it was here that I hit the wall, and it caused them to flee."

Mathni spent the whole of his first day of Raya making a police report at the nearest police station.

"The police arrived at my office at 9.30am. That worried me, because anything could have happened within the two-hour period. My wife and I could have been attacked."

It was not the first time Mathni's office saw uninvited "visitors". Two years ago, his some burglars unsuccessfully attempted to break into his office.

Mathni, who hails from Kota Baru, Kelantan, has been acting since 2009. His best known films include Jin Notti and Karak, while his best known dramas include Nur, Nur 2, Papa Ricky, Mimpi Sabrina and Rahasia Kasih.
