#Showbiz: 'Black Panther' in wheelchair with noticeable weight loss worries fans

KUALA LUMPUR: Photos of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman being rushed to hospital and looking much skinnier than before have surfaced on the Internet.

British newspaper The Sun recently reported that the 42-year-old American actor was taken to the Santa Monica Medical Centre in California by his fiancee, Taylor Simone.

Boseman was photographed wearing a black face mask and hood covered in a white blanket as he sat in a wheelchair pushed inside the hospital by a nurse.

Prior to that, he was last seen in public on April 30.

Since then, rumours about his health problems have been spreading as he reportedly lost 23 kilograms.

Boseman became popular for his portrayal of the Marvel superhero Black Panther in several Marvel films including Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

He also played some historical figures such as baseball legend Jackie Robinson in 42 (2013), soul singer James Brown in Get On Up (2014), and African-American judge Thurgood Marshall in Marshall (2017).

Boseman' latest film was the Netflix drama Da 5 Bloods directed by Spike Lee. It was released on June 12.
