#NSTviral: From wheelchair to grill master: Abang Fakhruddin's resilience wins hearts online

KUALA LUMPUR: Being in a wheelchair did not stop "Abang Fakhruddin" from earning an honest income by selling roadside burgers.

His tenacity earned praise from netizens, with many in awe of his grit.

The video of him preparing burgers at his stall in Maluri, Cheras, was uploaded by a food review page 'KL Foodie' on Facebook, and had since garnered over 68,000 views.

While ordering three beef burgers, the man behind the camera asked how the seller became wheelchair-bound.

The seller explained that he had fallen from the sixth floor of a building when he was a construction worker many years ago.

"I suffered from spinal injury after I fell from the sixth floor of a building when I was a construction worker thirteen years ago," he said.

Despite this, Abang Fakhruddin continued smiling and eagerly describing each step in preparing his burgers.

Facebook user Mohd Shah Rizan gave words of encouragement to the seller and said he respected him and his efforts to make a living.

"You are a great individual. Those who are able-bodied but do not work should be embarrassed.

"He is working hard for his survival."

Another user, Gopa Lan, highlighted the struggles a disabled person had to go through to own and manage a business.

"Even though I am an Indian, I hope this brother's business will be successful."

Meanwhile, user Max Stevens urged the public to support his business.

"This type of burger is more delicious than those 'overpriced' ones.

"I hope his business will grow. Let's support him," he added.
