#Showbiz: Siti's new album sells like hot cakes

KUALA LUMPUR: In just a day after pre-ordering was initiated, the latest studio album from Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, titled ManifestaSITI2020, has been snapped up completely.

In a news report, the pre-orders, which were open from yesterday till noon today, saw a total of 2,000 albums sold.

The amount was apparently for the first batch and another batch is expected to be opened up after this.

Siti said that although physical album sales had not been as great as before, the format still carried a sentimental value for fans.

"Feelings of joy and nervousness, it's all there because that's what I always feel when a new album is released. I don't know what the reactions will be and whether music fans will accept it since everyone has different tastes," she said.

Siti added that the album featured an assortment of melodies to satisfy her legion of fans.

"Universal Music and Siti Nurhaliza Productions (SNP) still put out physical albums because it is something sentimental for fans and can be considered a collectible item.

"This album also comes with a booklet which makes it a satisfying package and a worthwhile wait for all of the fans.

"We are also confident that with the help of Affiliate SNP or SNP agents who are selling this album, sales will increase in time since the pre-order purchases have already been encouraging," she said.

ManifestaSITI2020 is Siti's 18th solo studio album which contains 11 tracks. Five of them have already been released as singles. They are Anta Permana, Terang, Kasihku Selamanya, 7 Nasihat and Basyirah.

The album also features a cover of Teratai Menjelma which was originally sung by the late Datuk Sudirman Haji Arshad.

Some of the composers who are involved in the making of this release include Aubrey Suwito, Omar K, Hael Husaini, Ezra Kong, Pown Hasril, Melly Goeslow, Hafiz Hamidun, Ippo Hafiz, John Jeevasingham, Ryan Kyoto, Kmy Kmo and many more.
