KUALA LUMPUR: Akademi Fantasia Megastar winner Nur Farah Idayu Yaakob has just welcomed her first child after a seven-year wait.
The 36-year-old artiste gave birth to a baby boy, Aryan Rifai Shahrul via caesarean section at a hospital in Ampang last Friday.
Idayu shared the wonderful news on Instagram with a video of her newborn's crib which had his name printed on the bedsheet.
Idayu said: "After seven years of waiting, our baby has finally arrived, safe and sound.
"Aryan is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), as he was delivered via caesarean section. The umbilical cord got looped around his neck, which reduced his oxygen intake. But thank God he's a lot better now."
Idayu described the birth of her son as a most beautiful experience.
Fans and followers including popular artistes and fellow Akademi Fantasia graduates congratulated Idayu and her husband Shahrul Fadzil on the birth of their son.
Singer-songwriter Amylea Azizan, who was in Akademi Fantasia 3 said: "Welcome Aryan! Congratulations Idayu and Shahrul. Can't wait to see your precious boy."
Singer Anuar Zain said: "Tahniah Idayu dan Shahrul."
Idayu who hails from Kota Baru, Kelantan, finished 12th in Akademi Fantasia 3.
She later won Akademi Fantasia Megastar, a reunion season of the reality talent show's alumni in 2017.
Idayu and Shahrul were married in May 2014.
