KUALA LUMPUR: Angered by baseless allegations made against her family following the marriage of her son Uzair Haqimy Azman, drama producer Sheila Rusly plans to sue some Netizens for slander.
Sheila has denied allegations that she wanted Uzair, 25, to marry actress Janna Nick, but he ended up marrying Elisya Sandha instead.
Anak Mami Nasi Kandaq star Elisya, 21, the younger sister of award-winning actress Fasha Sandha and Uzair tied the knot last Saturday.
"This is nonsense! My son has just got married, yet some people have come up with such stories. I am going to take legal action against them as they insulted my family and in-laws," she said in a Harian Metro news report today.
Sheila learnt of the malicious allegations from friends who were active on social media.
"It is not a single individual, but a few of them. This slander has been making its rounds on cyberspace. I will track down the website owners who published it and sue them!"
Sheila, 49, said that some of the website owners had since deleted their "reports" but she demanded apologies from them.
"I want them to make open apologies, or I will take legal action against them. I hope to send a strong message out to all Netizens. Do not spread lies against others!"
