KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian singer-songwriter Ari Lasso is thankful that even though he was recently tested positive for Covid-19, it also led the doctors to discover a tumour in his lymph nodes.
Kompas reported that the 48-year-old former lead vocalist of Dewa 19 said that after he was found positive coronavirus, he started exercising to keep healthy.
"Due to physical exertion, I started to feel pain early last month, triggered by the inflammation," he said.
Doctors later diagnosed Ari with stage 2 lymphoma cancer, which is also known as Diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL).
The singer was reported to have gone through a procedure on Aug 20 to remove the tumour and is currently on the mend.
He is also undergoing chemotherapy in Singapore for at least three months.
