KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Syafiq Farhain is relieved that his mother Napisah Muhammad has had an 11cm cyst in her stomach removed today.
The son of late singer Saleem of Iklim said that his 56-year-old mother had her surgery at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hosiptal in Kuala Terengganu.
"Three months ago, she started feeling the pain in her stomach. Upon consulting with specialists, doctors discovered that there was a 6cm growth in her stomach, which had grown to 11cm by yesterday.
"I hope she will be strong and recover soon. I'm a little worried as sometimes she tends to overthink.
"Of late, she seems a little broody, perhaps because she had never been afflicted with any serious illness in the past. So this comes as a little shock to her," said the 27-year-old artiste in a news report today.
Syafiq said that he was glad to have been able to see his mother before she left for the hospital prior to her surgery.
