#Showbiz: Diana Danielle honoured for outstanding contributions to tourism, arts and culture

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actress Diana Danielle has been honoured with the People's Choice Award - Top Celebrity Of The Year, at the Top 100 Talent Awards and Malaysia Fashion, Modelling and Pageant Awards 2021.

The star of films as Magika and Kami Histeria was presented with the award by National Film Development Corporation (Finas) chief executive officer Professor Dr Md Nasir Ibrahim at a ceremony in the Bukit Jalil Golf And Country Resort yesterday.

Awards were also presented to actress Tong Bing Yu for Outstanding Actress Of The Year, model-actress Amber Chia (Outstanding Supermodel Of The Year), model-actress Carrie Lee (Icon Award For Pageantry), singer Winnie K (Outstanding Singer Of The Year), Datuk Nancie Foo (Oustanding Producer Of The Year), Leing Yein (Outstanding Social Media Influencer Of The Year), Datin Winnie Loo (Outstanding Hairstyling Creative Director Of The Year), and Bon Zainal (Outstanding Fashion Creative Director Of The Year).

Diana said: "I have been in the entertainment industry for two decades now, and I have learnt a lot since then. While I occasionally sing and host television programmes, acting has always been my first love, and come next year I am going to add one more talent to my resume as a producer of television programmes."

Diana also said that she had just signed a brand ambassadorship deal with a multi-million ringgit brand, and would announce the details on social media later on.

The awards' founder Dr Jason Hee said that despite the ups and downs during the many phases of the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, the creative industry was still able to proudly celebrate the core values of being a Malaysian, namely to continue embracing the spirit of creativity and looking ahead with optimism.

Nasir said: "Diana and the other award-winners have contributed greatly to our entertainment industry, besides promoting national culture and arts internationally. Celebrities are best suited to play an important role as national ambassadors."

The awards was organised by Miss Malaysia Kebaya (MMK) and Selangor Fashion, and proceeds from the two-hour event aided the Rotary Club of Pantai Valley which is assisting talented artists by purchasing their artworks.
