#Showbiz: 'Pelukan Angkasa' is Best Song at AJL36

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer Shila Amzah and rockers Sekumpulan Orang Gila (SOG) came out tops at last night's Anugerah Juara Lagu 36 (AJL36) for Pelukan Angkasa composed by Raja Nazrin Shah and written by Fazleena Hishamuddin.

They took home RM100,000 and a trophy.

Aina Abdul and Khai Bahar won RM5,000 for Popular Singer sponsored by Oppo and based on fans' votes.

The first runner-up was Marsha Milan Londoh with Cinta, written and composed by Bunga Cantik and Hang Nadim.

Haqiem Rusli was the second runner-up with Mimpi which he co-wrote and co-composed with Datuk A Aida.

Marsha and Haqiem won RM50,000 and RM30,000, respectively.

Best Vocals went to Aina for her song Sepi, while Best Performance, sponsored by Noir Beauty Essence, belonged to Marsha for Cinta. They won RM12,000 and RM18,000 respectively.

The 12 songs competing were Sepi (Aina), Nafas Cinta (Aina and Khai), Purnama (Naim Daniel), Lara (Naim Daniel, Hael Husaini and Haqiem), Mimpi (Haqiem), Boneka (Syamel), Angkara (Siti Nordiana), Cinta (Marsha), Pelukan Angkasa (SOG and Shila), Intan Payung (Noraniza Idris and Bunga Isme), Aewo (Shiha Zikir and Noki), and Salahku (Yonnyboii).

The annual song competition was broadcast live from Dewan Merdeka of the World Trade Centre (WTC), Jalan Putra at 9pm on TV3.

It was co-hosted by Nabila Huda Suhaimi and Alif Satar, with Sissy Imann and Sean Lee handling the red carpet segment which was broadcast live on TV9 at 8.30pm.

The show also featured performances by Datuk Jamal Abdillah, Mas Idayu, Ayda Jebat, Cassia, and Wings.

Since its inception in 1986, AJL has honoured the year's best songs, composers, lyricists and vocalists based on the weekly chart show Muzik Muzik.
