#Showbiz: Osama, Zaki plan to reunite Jamal's extended family

KUALA LUMPUR: The sons of pop king Datuk Jamal Abdillah, Osama Yamani and Ahmad Zaki Yamani have long held a common Hari Raya wish.

And that is to have all of their siblings celebrate Hari Raya together with their father.

Osama, 21, said that it was "no easy feat" as Jamal was now married to Datin Zai Izzati Khiruddin and spending quality time with their children Nur Azura Yamani, 3, El Issac Yamani, 2, and Iskandar Rayyan Yamani, 3 months.

"Even if it's a one-off event, I'll be very happy. What brings me the greatest joy is to have my father and all of his children, as well as his wife and ex-wives together in a Hari Raya celebration," said Osama in an interview with Harian Metro Online.

Osama, who participated in Big Stage 2020, added that his mother, Noraina Mohd Yusof, was currently living in Beruas, Perak and he visited her regularly.

"My mother gets along with my father's other ex-wives. Similarly, I get along with my half-brother Zaki," said Osama, adding that Jamal was usually busy entertaining guests at open houses during Hari Raya.

Zaki, 16, said that he regretted being unable to celebrate Hari Raya with his father for six years, and hoped that his parents would iron out their differences "just for a day".

"I live in Kajang with my mother, and we're celebrating Hari Raya with my maternal grandfather in Section 4, Shah Alam," he said.

"Even if it's difficult, I hope to do my best by working with my elder brother to bring the family together someday. Even if our parents are not in talking terms, at least we siblings are."

Zaki, whose mother is Jamal's ex-wife Fatimatuzahra Abdul Samad, said that it was unfortunate that his father recently claimed that his mother forbade him from visiting his second son.

Jamal, 63, has been married four times. He and Zai Izzati were married on April 1, 2017.
