KUALA LUMPUR: Southeast Asia's largest multi-player mobile game, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang recently celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri by featuring its three Malaysian ambassadors in a brief but meaningful advertisement.
Janna Nick, Hairul Azreen and Hun Haqeem starred in their first Mobile Legends Hari Raya advertisement where their superhero alter-egos Tang Wanwan, Yin and Ling transformed into ordinary Malaysians dressed in traditional attire to help a grandmother named Tok prepare for the festive occasion.
The superhero trio magically switched from their colourful costumes into baju kurung and baju Melayu before helping Tok prepare a scrumptious feast of ketupat and chicken curry.
Better still, they used their cosmic powers to "transport" Tok's grandson Akmal from the big city to the kampung, and celebrate a meaningful Raya with his grandmother for the first time in years.
The story ends with Tok and Akmal introduced to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang by the superhero trio, and scoring big enough to join the ranks of honorary superheroes in the game.
In a statement from the game's developer Moonton Games today, it said that the video released on April 22 came with miniature action films involving the superheroes.
"The Hari Raya video has garnered over 980,000 views to date while the action films have had over 1 million views.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang also released a song We Better Than Me to mark Hari Raya.
It became a hit with TikTok users, and garnered more than 300,000 views.
Janna, Hairul and Hun were recruited by Mobile Legends: Bang Bang on April 13 to strengthen its Southeast Asian presence.
Janna's character Wanwan is an outgoing personality skilled in dart-throwing, while Hun's character Ling is a swordsman who is competitive and intense.
Hairul's character Yin is a genius who is determined to emerge as a winner.
