#Showbiz: Sheila Majid lends voice to soundtrack for 'Juang'

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Sheila Majid feels honoured to be given the chance to lend her voice for Wira Hatiku, the soundtrack for the film Juang.

The 57-year-old songstress said she was thrilled to be able to record the song which was dedicated especially to the frontliners who had sacrificed their time and energy for the safety of the general public.

"It has been my wish to do something meaningful as a show of my appreciation for them.

"So to be part of this project is an honour for me to be able to give something back to those who have been working tirelessly for the greater good of the nation, especially in the past two years," she said in a news report today.

Sheila last released an album in 2017, titled Boneka.

Wira Hatiku is composed and written by Rynn Lim and it was recorded with the accompaniment of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. The music arrangement was by Mac Chew.

The music video, which was filmed at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, is currently available on YouTube.

Meanwhile, Juang, a collaborative work among Asia Tropical Films, Suhan Movies and The Film Engine, tells the story about the fight against Covid-19 and how the pandemic has changed everyone's live the world over since late 2019.

The film, directed by six of the country's acclaimed filmmakers, lines up Zizan Razak, Izzue Islam, Zul Ariffin and Sangeeta Krishnasamy as its main cast, and is expected to open in cinemas in September.
