KUALA LUMPUR: While most foreigners rave about Malaysia's roti canai, nasi lemak or some other popular local dishes, for Indonesian singer-songwriter Melly Goeslaw, her choice has always been the instant noodle Maggi Mee.
The popular artiste said she never misses the opportunity to enjoy a bowl of the humble food whenever she is here.
"I can never quite pinpoint the reason why, but ever since my first visit to Malaysia more than 10 years ago, I've fallen in love with the noodle.
"It's so delicious, so much so that I'd always bring home boxes of them after each visit, or get any friends travelling from Malaysia to Jakarta to buy for me," she said in a news report yesterday.
However, after Melly's bariatric surgery a few months ago, she is only able to enjoy the instant noodles in small amounts.
"After three or four spoonfuls, I'd be full already. It's the same with rice," she said.
