KUALA LUMPUR: Pulau star Amelia Henderson, 27, is aiming to contest in the annual Miss Universe Malaysia beauty pageant this year.
"I've always wanted to try my luck in a beauty pageant someday, and this year is my last chance as 27 is the age limit, we've got to be between the ages of 18 and 27," she said in an interview with Harian Metro Online today.
Amelia said that she was not aiming to win but merely chose to join the pageant to fulfil her childhood dream.
"The reason why I've chosen to join now is because the swimwear segment is no longer compulsory," she said.
The Miss Universe Malaysia organisers now allow married women and divorcees to join the pageant.
Amelia was married to Tunku Datuk Harrunnarasheed Putra Tunku Anuar from 2015 to 2018.
