Khai, Sani back for last adventure

THE virtually "indestructible" partners in crime-fighting — Inspectors Khai and Sani of Polis Evo — will return with a bang this May 25 in cinemas nationwide.

This time, they will be joined by a whole new team of specialist tough cops, who include the fearless Farali Khan and zany Douglas Lim.

Popular actors Shaheizy Sam and Zizan Razak, who has played Khai and Sani, respectively, in the past two installments, will return in the third with thrice the action, thrice the humour and thrice the suspense.

The movie is supposed to be the final chapter of Malaysia's most explosive police action blockbuster.

STAR-STUDDED ENSEMBLE

Besides Khan and Lim, other star-studded cast who will be making an appearance are Sharnaaz Ahmad, Syafiq Kyle, Fauzi Nawawi, Fezrul Khan and Eyka Farhana.

Nora Danish will reprise her role as Sani's younger sister Anis.

Polis Evo 3 also features cameos by well-known actors, actresses, directors and celebrities, such as Michael Ang, Ben Amir, Wanna Ali, Zulin Aziz, Fauziah Gous, Ezzaty Abdullah, Iman Corrine Adrienne, Danial Zaini, Radin, Kamaliah Mat Dom, Datin Fadilah Mansor, Daniel Cheang, Isha Norsham, Zulkifli Mohammad (Zukieee) and Datuk Afdlin Shauki.

SYAFIQ YUSOF DIRECTS

Produced by BlackFlag for the first time, Polis Evo 3 is a collaboration between Astro Shaw, Skop Productions and TGV Pictures.

Its executive producer and Astro Shaw head Raja Jastina Raja Arshad said: "The Polis Evo film series has showcased the brilliance of different directors, with the first Polis Evo (2015) grossing RM18 million and Polis Evo 2 (2018) grossing RM25 million."

She added that the first Polis Evo was directed by Ghaz Abu Bakar, the second was by Joel Soh and Andre Chiew, and the latest flick has Syafiq Yusof of the Abang Long Fadil fame helming the set.

EXCITEMENT TO FANS

"Polis Evo 3 is an expansion of the Polis Evo family through the introduction of new characters, who will join in the fun and complement the bromance between Inspector Khai and Inspector Sani.

"We hope that the return of the franchise after five years will provide excitement to fans," said Raja Jastina.

HIGHLY-SKILLED COPS

Polis Evo 3 sees Khai and Sani returning for a new mission — this time joined by highly-skilled compatriots named Inspector Dani, Inspector Julie and Inspector Dell, each with their own expertise in fighting crime.

The mission takes an unexpected twist when Khai becomes a potential target of the villain. Khai and Sani's friendship is put to the test when the latter realises that the enemy has a personal connection to Khai in the past.

SIX-PACKER

Shaheizy said that getting back into the role of Inspector Khai has greatly helped him to slim down and shape up, and he managed to develop a "six-pack" within a month.

"Zizan and I are best friends since the first film and I'm honoured to work with him once again," he said.

Zizan said: "The first Polis Evo was funny, the second was serious, and the third would be funny and serious."

STAR ATTRACTIONS

Syafiq said that he took four months of pre-production work to ensure that Polis Evo 3 would have an "explosively worthy conclusion" to the adventures of Inspector Khai and Sani.

"We filmed in Kuala Terengganu and the Klang Valley over two months, from November 2019 to January 2020. Even though Khai and Sani remain the star attractions in Polis Evo 3, Farali, Douglas and Syafiq Kyle also hold their own as formidable team mates of our heroes."

The cast, producers and directors of Polis Evo 3 recently launched the new film in Six In The City, Section 51A, Petaling Jaya.
