KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and social media influencer Hanis Zalikha is praying hard for her father's speedy recovery from brain surgery.
Hanis' father, Zainal Rashid, is currently recuperating in hospital, and she is thankful to have taken him for treatment early to stem bleeding in his brain.
"He hurt the left side of his head in a fall last month and when he first underwent an x-ray and CT scan, things looked all right. Sadly, after two weeks he began to suffer memory loss and his speech greatly slowed down, likewise his physical movements," she said in an Instagram post.
Hanis quickly took her father to hospital again, and doctors discovered that he was suffering from a brain haemorrhage.
"I spoke to three specialists and they told me that he had to go under the knife immediately," she said, adding that her father could have fallen into a coma if she had not rushed him to hospital.
"Thank God I brought him to the doctors quickly. This is an eye-opener for everyone including myself, that serious head injuries do not manifest themselves immediately, and prompt medical treatment saves lives."
