#Showbiz: Local celebs perform special version of Faizal Tahir's 'Assalamualaikum' in support of Palestine

KUALA LUMPUR: Faizal Tahir's award-winning humanitarian song, Assalamualaikum, has been given a new lease of life with the recent release of a new version featuring various artistes.

The song, created by Faizal with Audi Mok, Mike Chan, Omar K and Ezra Kong, currently serves as assign of solidarity with Palestinians who are currently suffering due to the unjust conflict in Gaza.

Presented by Rocketfuel Entertainment, the special remake, with an accompanying music video on YouTube, showcases performances by Naqiu, Tomok, Aliff Aziz, Azharina, Liza Hanim, Hady Mirza, Noryn Aziz, Jaclyn Victor and Nikki Palikat.

The other famous artistes involved include Hael Husaini, Zizan Razak, Elly Mazlein, Ara Johari and Wani Kayrie, as well as special appearances by Datuk Hattan, Mawi and Zizi Kirana.

"As a sign of support for the ongoing humanitarian disaster in Palestine, Rocketfuel Entertainment along with the participating local celebrities and singers also felt compelled to express solidarity through a group performance by singing together.

"We took the approach of having fun while donating, so all the proceeds collected through the YouTube views and streaming of the song online will be channelled to the Palestine People's Humanitarian Trust Account under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," said Rocketfuel Entertainment's Head of Music & Content, Syakireen Othman, in a recent statement.

Singer Ara added: "This is not just entertainment but one of our efforts to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine who are in dire need of help and attention.

"And as concerned Malaysians, don't forget to keep talking about the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

"Music is a universal medium and one of the important elements in conveying a message, and directly shows our solidarity and concern," she said.

The exclusive music video also features Dinda Dania, Timah, Idris Brown, Syazwan Suhaimi and Agy, as well as appearances from local personalities and celebrities like Datuk Zainal Abidin Hassan, Razman Roslan, Dr Soo Wincci, Safee Sali, Daniel Fong and many others.

The music video is available on Rocketfuel Network's YouTube channel. The song can be downloaded from iTunes and streamed via Joox, KKBox, Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music and YouTube Music.
