#Showbiz: Large gathering begins at Raja Gelek M. Daud Kilau's home before burial [NSTTV]

BAGAN DATUK: Relatives, neighbours and friends of Datuk M. Daud Kilau have begun to crowd the compound of the late singer's home in Kampung Sungai Balai Baroh, here, this morning in preparation for his last journey.

Traffic in front of the house is being controlled by Rela members, with police cones placed in strategic spots to remind motorists to slow down their vehicles as they pass the area.

As of 8.50am, Daud Kilau's remains were still in the house so as to give room for relatives and friends to pay their last respects.

The sound of prayers for the late singer, referred to as Raja Gelek, can be heard constantly being recited by those present.

Daud Kilau, 85, breathed his last at 4.46pm yesterday while receiving treatment at the Teluk Intan Hospital.

The "Cek Mek Molek" singer leaves behind widow Datin Rohani Awang Ngah, daughter Noraini, 58, and son Ahmad Zaini, 52, as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

When met, Zaini said his father's remains would be taken to the Tuminah Hamidi mosque for final rights before being buried at the Kampung Sungai Balai Baroh Muslim cemetery.
