#Showbiz: 'Anak Perjanjian Syaitan 2' collects RM2.2mil in 11 days

KUALA LUMPUR: Horror film "Anak Perjanjian Syaitan 2" has successfully collected RM2.2 million at the box office since it premiered in 130 cinemas nationwide on Jan 4.

Its director Dr Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nadzri, 52, said that it was a "great comeback" for him after a four-year hiatus from filmmaking.

"I am delighted that my films still pack a punch. I targeted RM5 million and it looks like I am going to achieve it," said Ahmad Idham in an interview with Harian Metro Online yesterday.

"Feedback from viewers has been very encouraging and more Malaysians have flocked to the cinema in the second week."

Ahmad Idham credited the stellar cast with his film's success, and its focus on spiritual values which appealed to the masses.

"It may be a scary movie but it is one which carries important social messages such as the dangers of dabbling in black magic," said Ahmad Idham.

He also said that many viewers watched the two-hour movie more than once and were satisfied with its message.

"I'm confident that it will continue its cinematic run for two more weeks."

"Anak Perjanjian Syaitan 2" is produced by Grand Brilliance and stars Eyka Farhana, Alif Satar, Fasha Sandha, Azlan Komeng, Dian P Ramlee, Azizah Mahzan and Shaharuddin Thamby.
