#Showbiz: Legendary musician Man Kidal launches charity concert to aid fellow artistes

KUALA LUMPUR: Having bounced back on his feet after losing his income following a Covid-19 infection, legendary musician Man Kidal now wants to help fellow artistes

He says he is now open to assist any effort in helping fellow artistes who are going through hard times.

In a Harian Metro report yesterday, the 60-year-old guitarist whose real name is Abdul Rahman Mahmood is collaborating with AS Travel &Tours Sdn Bhd and Koperasi Usahawan Intelektual Siswazah Malaysia Berhad to stage the Konsert Malam Amal Lagenda at Wyndham Acmar Klang hotel located in Klang, Selangor on March 3.

"I've been been tested in the past myself, so I'm ready to lend my hand to help any organisers in realising their efforts to help fellow artistes who are going through tough times now," he was quoted in the report.

Man, who was the founder of popular 1980s rock band Lefthanded, had it rough then that he had to depend on the financial assistance provided by the Lembaga Zakat Selangor.

"Alhamdulillah, I'd managed to get back on my feet, eventhough I didn't know then if I could pull through the ordeal.

"But I learnt one important thing, that whatever I did, it had been motivated by my intention to fend for my family. My wife and children had been my rock," he recounted.

Meanwhile, apart from him, others who will be performing at the concert are Datuk Hattan, Ifa Raziah, Noraniza Idris, Baby Shima and Bob Sentuhan.

Five artistes had been identified as the recipients from the funds raised from the event.
