#Showbiz: Ross Ariffin wishes to stay at JKM-run home for the elderlies

KUALA LUMPUR: Ross Ariffin, the song composer whom had been living as a homeless individual for the past three years, hopes to be placed at a home for senior citizens soon.

In a recent Harian Metro report, the 61-year-old whose real name is Roslan Ariffin Jamil was currently warded at Alor Gajah Hospital after he was involved in a road accident in Kuala Lumpur in October.

Ross, who was categorised as a homeless person, was earlier admitted to Melaka Hospital for a month, after his admission was handled by the Welfare Department after the accident, during which he sustained a broken arm.

The report quoted Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia Negeri Melaka's chairman and Karyawan Melaka committe member Datuk Zainal Abu Bakar as saying: "I visited him at the hospital together with Zaiton Sameon recently and he mentioned that he hoped Karyawan could assist in expediting his transfer from there to the Welfare Department-run home soonest."

Zainal also added that Ross had lamented that prior to that visit, nobody had come to see how he was faring.

In the past, Ross had suffered stroke twice.

In his heyday, Ross composed songs for some of the popular singers including Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, Ning Baizura, Fauziah Latiff and Liza Aziz.
