#Showbiz: After getting own house, Ross Ariffin now in hospital?

KUALA LUMPUR: Just after receiving the key to a unit of the People's Housing Project (PPR) from City Hall, popular composer and musician Ross Ariffin Jamil was believed to have gone to a hospital here recently, presumably to seek medical help.

According to 'Harian Metro', its writer received a brief text message from him in response to their queries. He had said: "I'm sorry, I'm at a hospital right now".

Since Ross only replied once, it remained unclear why he was at the hospital — whether it was for a routine checkup or due to a serious health issue.

Earlier this week, reports indicated that he had been given the key to a PPR unit, after social media highlighted his plight as a homeless individual earlier this year.

It came to the attention of Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, who subsequently met Ross three weeks ago and helped him obtain a PPR home.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa also helped Ross receive his PPR unit.

Ross has composed songs for Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, Datuk Aishah Ariffin, Jaclyn Victor, Ning Baizura and Fauziah Latiff among others.

His best-known songs include 'Dia' by Fauziah, 'Kemaafan Dendam Yang Teindah' by Aishah and 'Kau Dan Aku' by Ning.

'Kau Dan Aku' won the Pop Rock category of Anugerah Juara Lagu 1995.
