#Showbiz: Isma Aliff undergoes physiotherapy, recovering from stroke

KUALA LUMPUR: Multitalented 1980s artiste Isma Aliff, who was discharged from Ampang Hospital last Friday, says he has been undergoing physiotherapy sessions to recover from stroke.

In a Harian Metro report yesterday, the 59-year-old was quoted as saying: "Insya-Allah, with massage and acupuncture sessions, I'll be able to recover soon.

"But right now, I'm not able to eat rice yet, so I'm still very weak. Instead, I'm currently depending on liquid nutrition through feeding tube, which costs RM100," he said.

Isma is currently being looked after by his sister Shamsidah Ismail, 57, who is also caring for their 79-year-old bedridden mother.

Both Isma and his mother recently received two beds, donated by a mosque and a non-governmental organisation.

When Shamsidah could not cope with caring for both her brother and mother, neighbours would drop by to help her out.

Earlier, Isma was reported in critical condition and had to be put in an induced coma as his lungs and heart had been infected.

He was admitted to the hospital on Dec 15 due to stroke.
