#Showbiz: Hijab brand founder splurges RM3.5 million replete with Swarovski gems on eldest son's wedding

KUALA LUMPUR: The founder of a renowned hijab brand spared no expense, investing over RM3.5 million to bring her eldest son's dream wedding to life at a prestigious five-star hotel last week.

Haliza Masyuri, founder of Bawal Exclusive, warmly welcomed her first daughter-in-law in a celebration adorned with Swarovski crystals and jewels.

During the wedding, the bride, known as Sarah, looked stunning in a luxurious white gown embellished with 189,936 Swarovski crystals from Austria.

This extravagant attire was meticulously designed by renowned designer Rizman Ruzaini, featuring five types of Swarovski crystals valued at RM300,000.

At another reception, Sarah wore an exclusive tiara adorned with 233 sparkling crystals, specially crafted by Swarovski's Global Creative Director, Giovanna Engelbert.

This tiara, a unique piece created for the Vienna Opera Ball, holds immense significance.

Haliza said the tiara was invaluable, being a gift from Swarovski to her beloved daughter-in-law, unavailable for purchase elsewhere.

"The tiara draws inspiration from the jewels of the Austrian empire and the Swarovski Mesmera family jewels.

"Each piece is meticulously crafted from 233 clear crystal beads, arranged to shimmer with every movement," Haliza said.

She said the tiara was a representation of Austria's unique craftsmanship and its 129-year history as a cherished tradition in both Austrian and Swarovski heritage.

Haliza recounted their attempt to purchase the tiara, only to learn from Swarovski that it was not for sale.

However, she never expected Swarovski to eventually give the tiara to her daughter-in-law to be worn at the wedding.

During the ceremony, Haliza herself adorned an outfit by Faizuluziaf, embellished with 72,000 Swarovski crystals specially imported from Austria, valued at RM170,000, with the fabric sourced from Europe to complete the ensemble.
