KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean singer Ben, known for her hit songs 180 Degree and Thank You For Goodbye, has divorced her husband of three years.
Soompi cited a report from TenAsia today that the 32-year-old singer-songwriter, whose real name is Lee Eun Young, had submitted an application for divorce to the courts at the end of December last year.
It was also alleged that the divorce took place due to a problem on the side of her former husband, W-Foundation chairman Lee Wook.
Ben's agency released a brief statement that read: "It is true that Ben got divorced. We're checking on the details about the reasons for the divorce. It was decided that Ben will have custody (over their child)."
In 2020, Ben announced that she was getting married to Lee Wook following confirmation from her agency that the couple were in a relationship back in 2019.
A wedding ceremony was held in June 2021 and Ben gave birth to her first daughter in February last year.
