KUALA LUMPUR: After a six-year wait, Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh announced yesterday that they were expecting their first child together.
Times Of India reported that the Bollywood actress announced on Instagram that she was pregnant and that the baby was expected to arrive in September.
The post which was also shared by Ranveer featured images of baby shoes, bibs, shirts, rattles, head caps, pins and buttons.
News of Deepika's pregnancy comes a week after speculation intensified following her appearance at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) red carpet.
There she opted to wear a sari and strategically covered her stomach.
Fans noted the departure from her usual fashion choices, leading to widespread rumours about a potential pregnancy.
Deepika, 38, and Ranveer, 39, were married on Nov 14, 2018 at Lake Como, Italy.
They were in a relationship for six years having met on the set of the Bollywood film Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela.
Deepika and Ranveer celebrated the fifth anniversary of their marriage in Belgium last year.
