KUALA LUMPUR: Social media influencer Ryan Fahmi Bakery is now a drama director, and has just completed work on a Ramadan drama series for Astro Gempak.
Ryan, 29, said in an interview with Berita Harian yesterday that he was also starring in Budak Bedak The Series alongside his brother Adam Bakery and their social media influencer friends Wan Chai, Yeett, Black, and Farihin Arnia.
"Actually I planned to direct my own series on YouTube but Astro invited me to do it for them. Budak Bedak is good for Ramadan especially since it involves pious young friends who attend the same religious school," he said.
Ryan added that Budak Bedak had 10 episodes and was screned every Wednesday at 12.30pm on Astro Gempak.
"It is great being a director even though I admit I am still wet behind the ears. For the first time, I am making full use of a camera to shoot each scene," said Ryan, adding that he was still learning the ropes.
Ryan also said that besides directing Budak Bedak, he was now spending quality time with his wife Eylia Ibrahim and their two-month-old son Ryan Ezra who was born on Jan 3.
"This year will be a very special Hari Raya for me, as it is the first time I am celebrating it with my firstborn child."
