KUALA LUMPUR: Supermodel Amber Chia disclosed on Wednesday that she has been "single for two and a half years".
The 42-year-old celebrity shared this on Instagram, with a photo of her wearing white.
Chia married businessman Adrian Wong in 2010, and they have a 13-year-old son, Ashton.
She explained that she did not announce her status earlier as she wanted to respect her son's privacy.
Chia also said that while relationships might not last forever, her time with Wong was meaningful and they remained friends.
"I have no regrets. Emotional matters are shared. There is no right or wrong. Stay together if suitable, and separate if not.
"The most important thing is that we can remain friends after parting ways," said Chia who hails from Perak but grew up in Sabah.
She added: "Let's continue to strive and grow as better individuals."
Chia began her modelling career in 2004 when she became the first Asian to campaign for Guess Watches worldwide.
She also ventured into acting and starred in films such as I Love Wing Chun (2011), Hantu Gangster (2012) and My Mr Right (2015).
