#Showbiz: Heart-moving Raya shows by TV3

TV3 will be airing two special  Hari Raya programmes to remind viewers of those in need and who are trying to overcome life's challenges.

The touching documentaries entitled 'Anugerah Istimewa' and 'Rindu Tanpa Penghujung' will premiere tomorrow  at 9pm  and 11pm, respectively.

As this month is also known as  Autism Awareness Month, 'Anugerah Istimewa' will take the audience through the lives of autistic children and the families who are struggling to raise them.

This special programme aims to create community awareness and increase knowledge about individuals with the condition.

TV3 hopes the documentary will inspire Malaysians to pay close attention to autistic children, besides showing them empathy and  support, in fostering a harmonious community.

'Anugerah Istimewa' will highlight  two families  and their experiences in taking care of their special-needs children.

The first family is that of Khairul Abdullah — a single father struggling to raise  three sons — each with different challenges.

His eldest son has been diagnosed with autism, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and heart problems, while his second son has mental health issues. His youngest has been diagnosed with selective mutism.

The second family is about a woman named Dayang and her husband, who are blessed with twin boys but  both diagnosed with autism at age 4, along with a younger son with learning disability.

The show details how Dayang had to resign from her job to become a full-time caregiver to her children while her husband struggled to make ends meet.

'Rindu Tanpa Penghujung' is about  the  heartbreaking tragedy of the plane crash in Elmina, Shah Alam, which occurred in August last year.

This programme will feature in-depth interviews with the victims' families, exploring their experiences and emotions before, during and after the accident.

Their sharing reveals their heart-rending experiences as they prepare to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri for the first time without their loved ones.

Among the affected is Nor Hikmah Muhammad Salleh, who lost his brother Muhammad Hafiz.

Hafiz, a food delivery rider, was riding his motorcycle  on the Guthrie Corridor Expressway when a private jet  crashed near the Elmina interchange on Aug 17 last year. He was killed after being hit by the plane's burning debris.

"Everytime before Syawal, of course there will be many heartbreaking stories,  the joys and sorrows that we hear, but no one knows the heartbreak borne by the families involved," said 'Rindu Tanpa Penghujung' host  Fiza Sabjahan.

"I was overwhelmed and moved because indirectly, I could empathise with the victims' families as if I were in their shoes."

Fiza added: "For the families affected, Aidilfitri celebrations will never be the same as before.

"Based on the stories shared, I can conclude that family is the most valuable asset in life and if something unexpected happens, one must accept fate as there is always light at the end of every dark tunnel."

'Anugerah Istimewa' and 'Rindu Tanpa Penghujung' will also be made available for streaming online via Tonton.
