#Showbiz: Datuk Red and Adira spend their 'last Raya' in Kuching

KUALA LUMPUR: Businessman Datuk Seri Adenan Abu or Datuk Red and his wife, singer Adira Suhaimi are spending what might be their last Hari Raya Aidilfitri together with her family in Kuching, Sarawak.

"Adira's siblings live in Kuching, and they have invited their mother from Sabah to join them this year," said Adenan in a Harian Metro report today.

"I'll be going there today, and I'll be spending time with Adira's family till the second day of Hari Raya. She will be off to Mecca for her umrah on Sunday."

Adenan said that he had not celebrated Hari Raya with Adira since the Movement Control Order (MCO) of 2020.

"During the MCO I had to spend Raya in KL with my first wife, so now is the best time to spend it with Adira and our children, it might be our last together," said Adenan.

Adenan also said that this year's Raya had "re-energised" him after many challenges faced in the last few years.

"I'll be starting a new boutique after Raya," he said.

Adira and Adenan were married on Dec 3, 2015 in Songkhla, Thailand.

They have four children Anggrek, 7, Asan, 6, Anggun, 5 and Ayob, 2.

On March 5, the reconciliation committee appointed by the Gombak Barat Syariah Lower Court unsuccessfully sought to reconcile their nine-year marriage.

On Oct 25 last year, Adira filed for divorce from Adenan at the same court.

However, since the holy month of Ramadan, Adenan and Adira appeared to have reconciled and were often seen together on each other's social media accounts.

Adira expressed sympathy and support for Adenan after he revealed that he had been declared bankrupt last month.

Adenan's first wife Datin Seri Sharifah Norshafil Hassim filed for divorce last January. They have been married for 18 years and have five children.
