WHAT IS YOUR WEEKLY EXERCISE ROUTINE?

At least twice a week with a personal trainer.

WHAT IS YOUR FITNESS AIM?

As I’m close to 40, I plan to stay fit (improving the health of my heart and energy), and have a toned and lean body.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE WORKOUT?

For the past one year, I’ve signed up with Pinnacle Fitness for personal training. What’s good about personal training here, in comparison other gyms, is that they tailor my workout to my personal needs, goals, age, fitness level and medical condition.

I don’t need to plan my workout. I just go and do what has been laid out by my trainer for the day. Every six weeks, we assess my improvement and the routine may change as we go along.

HOW DO YOU GET OVER BEING TOO LAZY TO EXERCISE?

Having a fixed schedule works for me. That's every Tuesday and Thursday at 9am. And not having to plan my routine, just being at the gym and doing what I’m required to do for the day also helps. I also motivate myself by visualising the goals I want to achieve.

WHAT IS YOUR TYPICAL BREAKFAST?

Coffee (no sugar) and fruits at 8am and an egg sandwich at 11am.

WHAT IS THE ONE DESSERT YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?

Ice-cream.

WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU DO AFTER WAKING UP IN THE MORNING?

I have poor flexibility. Since I’ve been working out it has improved, but not much. So the first thing I do is stretch and drink at least 400ml of water, and another glass of vitamin C.

HOW DO YOU RECOVER FROM A HARD WORKOUT?

By ensuring that I stretch properly after a workout, drinking plenty of coconut water and getting between seven to eight hours of sleep.

WHAT IS THE ONE THING THAT EXERCISE HAS TAUGHT YOU?

If you work hard to achieve your body goals, nothing is impossible.

DO YOU PREFER TO EXERCISE INDIVIDUALLY OR IN A GROUP?

Individually. I prefer having my privacy.

DO YOU LISTEN TO MUSIC WHILE EXERCISING?

Now that I only do personal training, I can only listen to my trainer!
