#WOMEN: Becoming the best version of themselves

ENLIVEN Women - a transformative retreat designed to uplift women from all walks of life was held from March 2-3, officiated by Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

The event highlighted the importance of addressing mental wellbeing and spiritual wellness, especially since Covid-19 intensified work pressure and care responsibilities.

Programmes like this are now a necessity in society in order to combat stress, mental fatigue and emotion dysregulation, said Nancy.

The two day retreat included workshops on "life wheel", personal vision, overcoming childhood trauma, "empowering mindset for personal growth", yoga classes and gratitude practices.

It included women from all walks of life, including participants from the B40 community from the Nicol David Organisation and social enterprise Thrive Well, and young corporates, working mums, stay-at-home mums and women entrepreneurs.

The retreat created a lasting impact on these women who felt a renewed zest to live better and happier lives and managed to have breakthroughs especially from their past limiting beliefs.

The event also included an intimate sharing session with Datuk Nicol David who shared her personal journey in becoming the world Number 1 squash player.

Having an empowering mindset, positive energy and tranquility are skills that can be used to navigate through life's challenges, says founder of Enliven Women Caleen Caseryn Chua.

Chua is also the founder of Yoga for Mums, the accelerator chair for the Entrepreneurs Organisation of Malaysia, and former CEO and director of the Rotol Food-Chain.

Chua believes in guiding women to focus on their needs and cultivate tenacity.

"One of the aims of the Enliven Women Retreat is to build a supportive community of women. I believe that we thrive better when we are in a supportive community that uplifts one another, shares experiences and encourages one another."

Hopefully, Enliven Women can impact more women, not only in Malaysia but also in Southeast Asia and empower women to be their best selves, she adds.
