Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric priced at RM263,000

KUALA LUMPUR: Volvo's first locally made (CKD) electric vehicle (EV) is now available for viewing and booking at all authorised Volvo dealers in Malaysia as well as on the brand's official website.

The XC40 Recharge Pure Electric (XC40 RPE) is priced at RM262,459.75 and comes in five colours: Black Stone, Crystal White Pearl, Denim Blue, Glacier Silver and Sage Green.

Deliveries for all locations throughout Malaysia are expect to start from the end of April onwards to customers who made their order online.

"We are delighted to launch our first pure EV in Malaysia. The launch lays the foundation for us to become the leading electric luxury car brand in the country.

"We are committed to launching a new electric vehicle every year for next 5 years to support this initiative of ours. Additionally, we have the capabilities to assemble our own pure EVs for the local and other Asean markets," said Volvo Car Malaysia managing director Charles Frump.

Sold alongside its petrol T5 and plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) powertrain variants, the XC40 RPE is a fully electric all-wheel-drive powertrain that offers a range of up to 418 km on a single charge.

A milestone for VCM as it works towards becoming a climate-neutral company by 2040, the sports utility vehicle (SUV) is not only the company's first EV to be launched locally, but also the first EV assembled and exported from Volvo's Shah Alam plant. VCM is also the only maker with a full range of CKD Plug-in Hybrids.

The price of the XC40 RPE also includes a charging cable with the car, service package (years/km), 5 years vehicle warranty, 8 years HV battery warranty, and 5 years roadside assistance.
