PLANNED or not, Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia's (JLRM) update for its Range Rover Evoque is thematically timely.
The model now comes in the Corinthian Bronze, Tribeca Blue, and Arroios Grey colour hues, which the carmaker said during the launch was associated with "prosperity" and "tranquility", which coincided with the recent Chinese New Year celebration.
The new facelift Range Rover Evoque is available in three variants: Dynamic SE (M Spec), Dynamic SE (H Spec), and Dynamic HSE (Lux Spec).
The Evoque variants are split between two engine models. The P200 is equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 200PS and 320Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. This is the configuration found in the Dynamic SE (M Spec).
The P250 model delivers a performance that is shared by the Dynamic SE (H Spec) and Dynamic HSE (Lux Spec), coming in at 249PS and 365Nm of torque at 4,500rpm.
The two can sprint from zero to -100kph in 8.6 seconds and 7.6 seconds, respectively.

Aesthetically, the facelift is highlighted by a redesigned grille, ultra-sleek Pixel LED headlights and signature daytime running lights specifically for the Lux Spec.
Inside the cabin is a new 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen that's integrated into the centre console. It is powered by the latest-generation Pivi Pro infotainment technology that is complemented by regular software over-the-air updates.
The positioning of the screen console is said to enhance visibility and create a distinct space for interior stowage and Wireless Device Charging.
Other feature highlights include the premium 400W Meridian sound system, electrically adjustable steering column, satin chrome gear shift paddles and steering wheel with moonlight bezel.
The safety features include a range of camera-centred technologies. Features like 3D Surround camera, ClearSight Ground View and ClearSight Interior Rear View are available on H and Lux Specs.
The three new variants are priced from RM498,800.00 for the 200PS Dynamic SE (M Spec), RM529,800 for the 249PS Dynamic SE (H Spec), and RM565,800 for the 249PS Dynamic HSE (Lux Spec).
